At 20 I bought my first campervan, a canary yellow VW T25 (Holdsworth conversion). Over the following 10 years my summers involved travelling around the UK and all over Europe. In the early years of GPS, I had many adventures  by choosing B roads with a basic Sat Nav, taking us along the less travelled roads of the continent.

By the time I was 30 I started looking for something new to do. That's when I bought my first boat, a Salty Dog 28. A year later I swapped a weekend cruiser for a offshore capable Halmatic 30, passed my day skipper, and was crewing on a friends Rival 32 to the Caribbean.

After sailing over 10,000 nautical miles, my passion for sailing has turned into an obsession. I completed my second crossing in 2019 this time on my own boat.

Our trip took an unexpected turn though, when we found our dream boat, a Hans Christian 48, just off the coast of Venezuela in the Dutch Antilles.

We're now refitting the boat in the UK, including a complete electrical overhaul. We will use it as a project boat to showcase step-by-step how to upgrade all the electrics.
